With the new school year comes a new Student Records system: We are now using Focus exclusively and the previous TERMS system is no longer the hub of information about classes and students. Many of the resources used in the classroom get their information from the Student Records system. Unfortunately, we are still fine-tuning some of the connections between Focus and these other applications. Additionally, some of these resources (such as MyHRW and Renaissance Place) have undergone changes beyond the Student Records switch. We anticipate that all the resources that teachers require will be up and running within a few days (if they are not already), but in the meantime here is a quick status update for the more prominent electronic resources.
Pearson products and textbooks including SchoolNet, SuccessNet, and anything else accessed through SchoolNet: Teachers should have full access to their resources. There may be some individual exceptions, which we will be able to resolve with a ticket in the Service Desk.
Harcourt products and textbooks generally accessed via MyHRW and Think Central: Like last year, teachers will initially have to populate their own classes in MyHRW. However, student and teacher information should be available in MyHRW using the login information specific to that product. Think Central is not ready yet, but we are hoping that it will be ready by Tuesday and that it will use the same usernames and passwords as MyHRW. Bear in mind that the Harcourt brand includes all resources from Harcourt, Houghton Mifflin, and Holt, Rinehart and Winston -- any textbooks or other resources from any of these imprints will be available from either MyHRW or Think Central.
McGraw Hill products and textbooks via ConnectED: We are sending data to McGraw Hill but are waiting to hear back from them regarding its processing status and whether there are any problems.
Discovery Education: Student data has been sent to this system but there are problems with course scheduling that we are still addressing. Teachers and students may be able to log in and use this system, but using courses may be problematic at the moment.
Destiny for Media Centers and Textbooks: We are close to resolving some compatibility problems between this system and the way that Focus stores records.
Compass: Compass is ready but there appear to be some problems with teachers who have moved from one school to another. Teachers experiencing these issues should open a ticket with the Service Desk.
C2C: We believe this system should be available Tuesday morning.
Raptor: Schools have already been informed concerning the data available in Raptor.
FCAT Star: This system should be up-to-date and fully functional. Teachers experiencing problems should open a ticket with the Service Desk.
Renaissance Place: We have upgraded to a new version of this software that is accessed over the Internet. We are working on verifying logins before making it available, but this process should be complete by Wednesday.
Read 180: We are still verifying student data and examining how ESE students will be handled this year. We believe that most students should be able to use the application now.
Fast Math: Is not ready due to upgrades. Information on how to access it for this school year will be forthcoming this week.
PEER / Sunshine Connections / General ESE: These systems should be up-to-date and fully functional.
Transportation (General): These systems should be up-to-date and fully functional.
Achieve 3000: We are working on a means for this system to be more widely available this year. An update should be forthcoming before September 1.
Algebra Nation: We are working on a means for this system to be more widely available this year. An update should be forthcoming before September 1.
RTIB: Data has been loaded, but we are aware of some modifications that will need to be made in a few weeks.
One Source Food Service: Data should be current in the cafeteria systems but we are still working to bring the data back into Focus and to resolve any minor issues that may arise.
School Messenger: This system should be up-to-date and fully functional. Teachers experiencing problems should open a ticket with the Service Desk.
