Software Application Access - Automated Update or By Request?

We get many questions about what employee access is automated when changes are made in Skyward and what employee access must be changed via ticket submission.

Fully Automated

  • Bus Ticket
  • Google Workspace
  • Filr
  • FLDOE SSO Portal - Most applications for school personnel are fully automated. Examples of applications include FSSAT, PEER, and CPALMS.
  • GoGuardian Teacher - Teachers must be teaching a graded course in Focus in order to have access. All graded courses are set up for teachers. Teachers may add additional courses if desired.
  • Performance Matters
  • Raptor
  • Random Drug Testing
  • Report School Violence
  • Safe Schools

Partially Automated

  • Absence Management - Basic access is automatic. Principals must request any elevated access from HR.
  • Focus - The IT Department handles most security for Focus through individual requests. Basic access (teacher for example) should be assigned automatically. Principals or District Department Heads must request any elevated Focus access via a ticket submission.
  • Gmail Groups - The District automatically maintains email accounts and groups for all staff at each school and center as well as the entire district (six domain groups). School administrators and district administrators are able to communicate by email with all appropriate staff through these groups. Inclusion in other groups may be requested via a ticket submission.
  • Kronos - Basic employee, timekeeper, and supervisor access is automated based on Skyward job assignment. However, the employee's timekeeper and supervisor is assigned by the Payroll Department.
  • Office 365 - Basic access to Office 365 is provided to all students and staff. Access to desktop versions of Office is available via ticket submission.
  • Schoolnet - Basic access is provided to staff and teachers. Principals must request any elevated access via a ticket submission.
  • Skyward - Basic access is provided to all employees. Principals or District Department Heads must request any elevated Skyward access via a ticket submission. Any requests must be approved by appropriate personnel in Finance and HR.
  • Zendesk - Basic access is provided to all employees. Any elevated access must be requested via a ticket submission.

Only by Request (Little or No Automation)

  • Facebook - Principals must request any access via a ticket submission.
  • FortifyFL - Principals must request any elevated access from Protection Services.
  • GMS - Principals must request any access from HR.
  • MySchoolBucks - Principals must request any access from Accounting Operations.
  • Region CenterSuite - Principals must request any access from Purchasing.
  • School Loop - Principals must request web manager access via a ticket submission.
  • SchoolMessenger - Principals must request access via a ticket submission.
  • Surveillance System - Principals must request access via a ticket submission.
  • VOLO - Basic user access is available through a self-registration process available at https://ecsd-fl.schoolloop.com/ecsdalert .
